It would be helpful sometimes to use some of the cheat codes while you play the game Age of Empires III from Ensemble studios. There are some tricks also which will help you to enjoy the game better. Here are the cheat codes and game tricks and hints for the Age of Empire 3 Game. You can use the same cheats for the Warchiefs and Asian dynasties extension packs of the game also.

Tips and Tricks
Making the Level Easy
Goto the folder
My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Savegame and find the file
sp_yourcityname_homecity.xml. The name you given for your home city will be there instead of
yourcityname. Make a copy for this file (as a backup). Then open the original file using notepad. Select the option
Find in
Edit and type
<level>. Then hit '
Enter'
. Now you can see
<level>xx</level> in the file. (instead of
xx there will be some integer value). Replace
xx with
99. Save the file and close it. Now play the game and you can see that your home city has reached the highest level and everything will be unlocked.
Get Enough Unlock Points
Goto the folder
My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Savegame and find the file
sp_yourcityname_homecity.xml. The name you given for your home city will be there instead of
yourcityname. Make a copy for this file (as a backup). Then open the original file using notepad. Select the option
Find in
Edit and type <skillpoints>. Then hit '
Enter'
. Now you can see
<skillpoints>xx</skillpoints> in the file. Instead of
xx there will be some integer value. Replace it with any large integer like 900. Save the file, close it and start the game with your home city. You will get that much number of skill-points. Using the skill points you can unlock many things for your home city.
Get Unlimited Resources
Open the
data directory in the Age of Empires Game folder. Right click on the
proto.xml and select
properties. Uncheck the '
Readonly' property and press
OK. Use a text editor (like notepad) to edit the this file. Search for the text "
CrateOf" in the file using the
Find option in text editor.. You will find
CrateofFood,
CrateofCoin,
CrateofWood,
CrateofFoodLarge,
CrafteofCoinLarge, and
CrateofWoodLarge. For all these entries, find the tag "
InitialResourceCount" and change the count to whatever amount you want. The normal crates may have "100.000" of the resources. You can change it to "99999.000", etc. Now you will get lot of resources for the game.
