How to Hard Reset Sony Xperia P

This post will tell you how to hard reset a Sony Xperia P Android Smart phone. Before you hard reset your phone, you should take a backup for whatever data you may need later, especially contacts. You may backup your contacts using 'export' option in options menu of 'contacts'. You may also use the 'PC companion' software provided by Sony to take backup. Another option is to use the backup service provided by Google server.

After taking backup of your important data, follow the steps given below.

1. Open the dialpad in the phone.
   
   
2. Dial the code *#*#7378423#*#*. This will take you to a secret menu.
3. From the menu, select Customization Settings.
4. Now select Reset Customisation.
5. Now you can see a single long button. Just tap on it.
6. Then you will be asked to enter the security pin (lock code). Enter the code and proceed. (The default pin may be 1234 or12345.)

The phone will reset now. It may take some minutes and will reboot itself. After the reset process, you will have to configure it as if you have bought new one. For demonstration with captions, watch the following video.
